A 66-year-old woman died on Thursday after she was found unconscious in her nursing home, authorities said.
A Dallas nursing home spokeswoman said Betty R. Ruppert, who had been admitted to the facility for health issues, died of “hypovolemic shock.”
Ruppet was pronounced dead on the scene, according to the spokeswoman, who asked that her last name not be used.
The spokeswoman, Kristine Rupples, declined to provide any details about the nature of the injuries.
Raffles said Ruppets death was being investigated by the Dallas County medical examiner’s office.
Ruppert was transferred to the University of Texas Health Science Center Dallas Medical Center after the incident.
She was employed as a nursing assistant at the hospital, according the spokeswoman.
